Website Help - Using stanleygibbons.com

Searching the website

The "Search Site" facility allows you to search the website in order to find the product(s) you are looking for.

If you are looking for a specific stamp you can enter the SG number and select 'SG Number' from the dropdown menu next to the box and then press 'Search'.

Similarly if you wish to search for a specific stamp catalogue, album or accessory and you know the stock code number you can enter this into the search box and select 'Stock Number'. Press 'Search' and you should be taken to the item.

Entering search terms

The search facility will look for each term you enter and will return results that are most relevant to those terms.

To narrow your search you can use punctuation in the search, specifically:

- enclosing double quotation marks or single quotation marks around the search instructs the search to take the words within the quotes exactly.

For example: ”Great Britain Concise”

You can refine the search using the refine search facility that appears on the search results page. Any terms entered here will refine  your original search by the terms you enter. You can use the quotes and plus sign in the search refinement terms.

To conduct a new search, just submit a new search term in the search site in the page header.

Using the tickboxes and arrows on the left hand side of shop pages

The tickboxes allow you to see all of the stock we have against a relevant category. For example, if you tick "Booklets", you will see all of the booklets we have available within the area you are searching. You can tick as many boxes as you like to show all of the stock against as many categories as you would like.

The arrows allow you to be more specific with your search within a certain category. For example, if you click on the arrow next to "Stamps & Covers" (without ticking the box), you will see "Stamps & Covers" broken down into multiple sub-categories. You can keep using the arrows to refine your search and find exactly what you are looking for.
